july projects.

have not posted for awhile  been busy with many things. We bought a travel trailer to go camping in big upgrade from a pop up with no facilities. looking forward to enjoying it.  trying to find couple of days with no rain to go try it out.  yes projects will be going with me.

I have been quilting customers quilts this last month trying to catch up.

took a week and went to friend Cheryl's  to sew and shop.  6 of us went to Missouri Star Quilt Co in Missouri 4 of them had not been there before.  spent the night in  a house in Hamilton  and shop hopped our way back to O'Fallon next day.  good trip.

while at Cheryl's I got several things done.  I took many small projects to work on not knowing what I would get done .  I learned to make rope bowls while there.  they are fun.

here are the things I got done. I found a small kit in my stuff for a xmas  runner  I got it done.

bought a small runner kit on our trip  and made the top  and quilted and bound it when got home this week

made some microwave bowls for a fundraiser end of Aug.

I made a little basket yesterday in between quilting   these are from mini charm squares  fun and easy I have several more part way sewn together of Halloween fabrics.

I also cut out 20 granny square blocks from Lori Holt's book on Tuesday while have a storm and did not want machines plugged in.  They are cut out of 30"s fabrics a friend gave me . She had did a block of the month with a shop for the farmer's wife pattern and decided she did not want to do it. So gave it all to me.  I was working on my Dear Jane quilt and could not find my book so she thought this would help. I used her book to make last block I needed but I did mine in civil war fabrics.   Having fun with her 30's fabric since not my usual pallet of fabrics and saving the scraps for Cheryl for her 3" 365 blocks in 30's.

well hope to not take so long to post next time.

I am off to quilt.

happy quilting

a post to update progress on projects

I have not posted for awhile due to family events and just forgetting to post, but  been have been working on projects in the background.

I concentrated on finishing a needlepoint bell pull that  mother had bought me many, many years ago. I am calling this my 40 year project.  It had been put away for many years. So I worked on it in the evenings and any where I went that had time to work on it.  Now to finish it, I finally found hardware to put on top and bottom to hang it.

After I finished that project, I started another Cross stitch project. I forgot how much I enjoyed cross stitching which I had done before we moved to Sullivan. I started back doing it in 2020.

I made a snowflake quilt for winter.  I have a quilt rack behind the couch and am making quilts to change out for the seasons.  This was a fun and easy quilt from a pattern by Pat Sloan.

I made a quilt for husband's United Bowhunters of Illinois's annual fundraiser 1st Sat of March. It was in the live auction. I was pleased that it brought $250.00.  It was the highest item sold.  Enjoyed making it.

I was asked to teach a paper piecing class in Flora Il.  So this is the project I put together for them. A small quilt.  Will be teaching this in April.

The next 2 blocks are from scraps. I had made a lot of 4 patches from 2" squares as leader and enders while working on other projects. I found the inspiration on the internet to join these 2 blocks into a quilt. I laid out a few blocks and it will look great, will post when I have some of it together.  so watch for it.

I have a good friend that is getting a first grandchild that is going to be a girl. I had these blocks partially made so finished them and a quilting Friend helped me with the sashing and border. I love it even though she pushed me out of my box.  Now to quilt it and be ready for the baby in June.  Wow I am a head of schedule for once.

Now I am going to get the longarm stitching and get some customer quilts done now that I am able to concentrate on them.

well this is some of the things I have gotten done or am working on since the first of the year.

Happy stitching
