today's progress

I am having sinus problems with this weather change and the rain yesterday. Wasn't too energetic today.   I put elastic in 10 pair of scrub pants for a friend.   Then I finished making the paper pieced spikes for my new york beauty blocks.   Good to have all 30 of these done, now to start assembling the curve pieces onto this part.

Hi,  it is rainy here today. So hope to put another customer quilt in the machine and work on it. Yesterday I decorated some towels with the rest of the fat qtr I bought at the LQS. I think they turned out cute.  They will brighten up the bathroom and the kitchen.  So that fat qtr didn't go in my stash and the scraps got cut into 2 inch squares for 4 patches that I am doing as leaders and enders when get enough sewn I will decide what to make with them.

fall wallhanging

I made a fall wallhanging in a day. It is a strip pieced pumkin. It was a kit from Threads of Time quilt shop in Danville.  Enjoyed doing it and accomplishing something.  Also finished a customer quilt and have it ready to mail.

Also I have been working on a shop hop quilt that has 30 paper pieced new york beauty blocks in it.  So I have been making them in the evening while either listening to music or sewing with Bonnie Hunter on her live quiltcam.  I have 24 done and 6 more to go then will need to put the curve pieced on the block.  Then need to make the other blocks that go in the quilt.  The fabric is Stonehedge Gingo  all browns and beiges. I just love it.

Hi,
yesterday some of us went to LQS for their fat quarter frenzy sale and quilt show and lunch of course.
I bought some fat qtrs for a quilt I am collecting civil war like fabrics and an Edyta Sitar new pattern of umbrellas.  then I saw a hand towel with some hall fabric sewn on it and had to have a fat qtr of it too.   So this morning I cut and sewed it onto a towel I already had.   Here is a picture of it. Put it in our small guest bathroom.  Have enough from this fat qtr to make another with this stripe and 2 with sunflowers.

I am also working on a block a month from the same shop and we picked up October block and I got them made today too.  It is 2 blocks one positive and one negative each month.

That was the end of my sewing for the day due to a call from granddaughter for help with homecoming dress. Needed a sash made for her dress. She had ribbbon but that didn't want to wrap around her very well so off to Wal-Mart we went for some fabric. We bought dark purple satin and came back to her house and I made a sash. I at least thought to take a sewing machine with me.  So that job done and her happy headed off for some groceries.  Will wait for some pictures later.

It is October already, not sure where Sept went..  I have been working on r/w/b string blocks for a quilt for veterans.  Also working on a breast cancer challenge wall hanging.   Loaded a customer quilt into the long arm I will be working on it on Thursday.

Weds is sewing group day at my house with a few friends.  not sure what we will be working on but something for sure and having a great lunch.
Went to a new program at LQS tonight called Groovy Girls  its was fun and interesting. We get a pattern, variation on another pattern,  other info about new things at the shop, play a game and someone wins a prize it wasn't me.  We also get a sample of a new recipe and best of all a discount just for us for attending..    Looking forward to next month to see what is next.
